Our aim is to provide disadvantaged people in Madagascar, with support and educational resources so that they may improve their communities and break the cycle of poverty.

We aim to educate the people of Madagascar in the following areas

Languages

There is great demand among the island communities on Nosy Komba to learn English and Italian to enhance future job prospects and the ability to communicate with the growing number of tourists in Madagascar, who contribute significantly to the local economy

Environment

Nosy Komba is home to many of the iconic wildlife species that Madagascar is renowned for. Unfortunately, many endemic species in Madagascar are threatened, in many cases due to increased deforestation.

Where we work

Madagascar is officially known as the Republic of Madagascar. It is an island country in the Indian Ocean and is located on the coast of Southeast Africa.

The nation comprises the island of Madagascar which is the fourth-largest island in the world, as well as numerous smaller islands. Madagascar has a very diverse Eco system with over 90 % of its wildlife found nowhere else in the world.

Madagascar is one of the world’s poorest countries. The country’s economy is based largely on agriculture, mining, fishing, and clothes production. French and Malagasy are both official languages of the Republic of Madagascar. The majority of the population adheres to Christianity, traditional beliefs or an amalgamation of both.

Finding ways to prevent long term damage to habitats and ecosystems is vital to protecting and preserving this extraordinary environment and its biodiversity. Agriculture and ecotourism, paired with greater investments in health, education and private enterprise, are key elements of development in Republic of Madagascar.
